A few days ago, I had the opportunity to visit the Museum Ferruccio Lamborghini as a visitor: this was possible because I won a contest with the Italian magazine EVO!
Twenty lucky readers of the magazine EVO had the opportunity to do a tour in the museum,we was accompanied by the son of Ferruccio, Tonino Lamborghini and also we had the opportunity to make him any questions…
Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum is a museum dedicated to the life of Ferruccio and it retraces his entire life with his creations but also owned cars.
Businessman Ferruccio Lamborghini born after the Second World War, when the Italian industry was beginning to leave. The brilliant idea of Ferruccio was to convert disused military jeep in agricultural means maked a lot of technical and mechanical changes.
The first tractor that produces is the “Carioca”, innovative because much less expensive than the competition but also for the innovative sprayer, it allowed the tractor to work with oil.
But Ferruccio passion for cars was so great and just to have a supercar, he reinvents his Fiat 500 Topolino Barchetta which also he participated in the famous “Mille Miglia”: he rebrand the Topolino with his logo with name Ferruccio Lamborghini Cento (FLC).
Lamborghini enriched with industry tractor and he could buy luxury cars including the famous Ferrari but Ferruccio is not satisfied with his Ferrari 250 GT because it repeatedly breaks the clutch.
Angry, he talk with Enzo Ferrari to tell him that the clutch mounted on the car was actually wrong because it wasn’t adequate; Ferrari wouldn’t listen Ferruccio and Ferrari told him that he wasn’t a good driver. So Lamborghini mounted a clutch of his tractors on the Ferrari and it had no more problems.
Well, from this episode it was born the history of Lamborghini automobile industry.
The Lamborghini tractor factory was one of the most modern in those days, and with the help of engineer Giotto Bizzarrini (former Ferrari) and designer Franco Scaglione came to life the Lamborghini 350 GTV. It was the first real Lamborghini because it was innovative engine V12 because more compact, more powerful and dual overhead cams.
The evolution of the 350 GTV was the 400 GT 2 + 2, renewed in some details like headlights and bumpers.
In the meantime, the industry continues tractors and the first crawler tractor was presented.
In 1965 at the Turin Salon Lamborghini introduced a chassis and an engine without a body that then Bertone realized a global icon with the name of the Lamborghini Miura.
Spada 2 + 2 was designed by Bertone and it also mounted V12 engine of the 400 GT. It was also made a prototype version that initially it was equipped with doors opening gullwing, and a second updated version.
The Lamborghini Jarama SVR was a racing prototype, the original Jarama.
The Jarama was the last 2 + 2 produced by Lamborghini; the racing version is unknow.

The Lamborghini Urraco was built in different versions: it was difficult to design because it had to have the central engine and 4 seats.
Very different from the other car, the Lamborghini LM002 is an off-road descending from Cheetah prototype (vehicle built with the technical specifications of the US Army). With its unique specifications as the V12 engine of the Countach, a top speed of 210 km / h, and the extreme consumption of 5 km per liter, it didn’t have the success.
Ferruccio was also interested in aviation and he planned with his staff a helicopter but it never got beyond the prototype stage…
Finally, the Lamborghini Countach LP 500 was one of the last creations of the Ferruccio’s era: in this car the wedge design came to the top!
Everyone knows about it and it is an icon of the past such as the Miura.
The museum was created the study of Ferruccio Lamborghini in scale 1: 1.
The replacement for the Countach was the Lamborghini Diablo, a true hypercar with V12 engine and top speed of 325 km / h.
The wine produced in the vineyards of Ferruccio called “Sangue di Miura”.
